What are these ants,why are they in the house,how to get rid of them and identify their colony and crush it?

Ok so i just moved in to this new house a couple of months ago with my parents. We've lived her for about3-6 months now and around 2 months ago i started noticing these red and black flying ants in my room and in the hallway. They don't appear as much during the day but during the night there is a whole bunch of them between my window and the screen. Then they fly around in my bedroom and into the hallway. They also appear to be in the bedroom next to mine and i think they get in from there also. I don't know if this problem just started because when we first bought the house there weren't many flying ants but there were big red and black ants crawling in the carpet all through out the house. Now they only appear on the side of the house where I sleep. I just want to know why they are only on one side of the house, how to kill them and how to find their colony and kill it also. Thanks!!!
