Animal rescuer(20 characters)?

lately i have been watching dog town and i love animals. and now i want to be an animal rescuer and/or "foster mom" for rescued pets when i'm older. i am in high school right now so are there certain classes i should take? and would i need a college degree? and do they make much money?
